Project Overview

Objective:

Develop a responsive, community-driven website for Mompowerment—a Canadian go-to learning resource and support network for every stage of motherhood.

Client Background:

Mompowerment Ltd. provides on-demand and live learning modules, events, a curated shop, and a vibrant peer community to help mothers navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Their mission: “What you need, when you need it.”

Scope:

  • Brand refinement, Shopify (or WordPress) theme customization, modular “Learn” section, community gallery, events carousel with registration links, shop preview, newsletter signup form, on-page SEO, analytics setup.
  • The Challenge

    Pain Points:

  • Fragmented resources: Mompowerment’s content and community lived across social channels, making it hard for moms to discover and engage.|
  • Low visibility for events and courses: without a central hub, registrations were inconsistent and manual.
  • No email-capture or e-commerce presence to monetize learning modules and mom-made products.
  • Market / Competitive Analysis

    Landscape:

  • Parenting resources are often scattered: Facebook groups, YouTube channels, and standalone blogs.
  • Few platforms combine learning, community, events, and shopping under one roof.

    Benchmarking:

  • Competitor A: Strong social following but no proprietary website—leads lost in DMs.
  • Competitor B: Offers paid courses but minimal community interaction.

    Opportunities:

  • Position Mompowerment as the all-in-one Canadian mom portal—blending education, peer support, live events, and commerce.
  • Create seamless pathways from “Learn” modules to “Join the Community” to “Shop” to drive deeper engagement and revenue.
  • Solutions

    UX & Visual Identity

  • Mobile-First Approach: Ensured clear hierarchy—hero headline, single “Join” CTA, then “Learn,” “Community,” “Events,” and “Shop” sections.
  • Accessibility: High-contrast red accents for CTAs, legible fonts, and keyboard-navigable carousels.
  • Logo & Color Palette: Refined the existing logo for clarity at all sizes; defined a palette of deep red, charcoal, and white to convey trust and warmth.
  • Typography: Paired a modern serif for headlines with a friendly sans-serif for body text to balance approachability and professionalism.

    Content & Feature Modules

    “Learn” Section:
  • Split into “Learn On-Demand” and “Learn Live” cards with thumbnails and “Learn More” buttons
  • Highlighted “100 expert-led modules” stat below the hero to build credibility.

    Community Gallery:
  • Three-column photo grid showcasing real moms; dark overlay “Join Us” card to drive sign-ups.

    Events Carousel:
  • Horizontal slider of upcoming events with “Register” links; arrows and dot pagination for ease of navigation.

    Shop Preview:

  • Teaser section for mom-made products; CTA “Coming Soon” to build anticipation.

    Newsletter Signup:
  • Multi-field form (“Name,” “Email,” select interests) directly integrated with Mailchimp for segmented campaigns.|

    Third-Party Integrations

  • Mailchimp: Automated welcome emails and segmented drip series based on selected interests.
  • Google Analytics: Tracked page views, button clicks, and form submissions to measure engagement.
  • Zapier: Connected form submissions to Slack and email for real-time lead alerts.
